Piercing Aftercare

Congratulations on Your New Sparkle!

Thank you for choosing Lizzy Lee & Me for your ear piercing experience. Proper aftercare is the key to healthy healing and beautiful results.

  • Approximately 6–8 weeks

Every child heals a little differently, so some ears may take longer.

  • Clean the ears 3 times daily using the aftercare solution provided at your appointment.

    Step 1

Wash your hands thoroughly before touching earrings or ears.

    Step 2

Apply the aftercare solution to the front and back of the piercing using a cotton swab or cotton pad.

    Step 3

Gently rotate the earring 2–3 times while cleaning.

  • Do:

✔ Keep earrings in place during the entire healing period

✔ Clean three times daily with the provided aftercare solution

✔ Sleep on a clean pillowcase

✔ Keep hair products, lotions, and sprays away from the piercing area

✔ Contact us if you have any concerns

    Don't:

✘ Remove the earrings before the recommended healing time

✘ Touch or play with the earrings unnecessarily

✘ Use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or harsh cleansers

✘ Swim in lakes, rivers, or hot tubs during the first few weeks of healing

✘ Allow others to touch the piercing

  • Earrings should remain in place for at least 6–8 weeks.

Once healed, choose high-quality earrings made from hypoallergenic materials whenever possible.

If you're unsure whether your child's ears are fully healed, we'd be happy to take a look before changing them.

  • We recommend avoiding swimming for the first few weeks whenever possible to give the piercing the best chance to heal.

    If your child does swim:

    • Clean the piercing as soon as possible afterward using the provided aftercare solution.

    • Avoid lakes, rivers, and hot tubs during the healing period, as they contain bacteria that can increase the risk of irritation or infection.

    • Chlorinated pools are generally lower risk than natural bodies of water, but chlorine can still irritate a new piercing and may slow healing if exposure is frequent.

If you're planning a vacation with lots of swimming, we often recommend waiting until after your trip to have ears pierced.

  • The following can be part of the normal healing process:

    • Mild redness for the first few days

    • Slight tenderness when touched

    • A small amount of clear or pale yellow fluid that dries around the piercing

  • If you have any questions about your child's piercing, healing, or changing earrings, please contact us.

We love being part of these special milestones and want every piercing experience to be safe, comfortable, and magical.
